We’ve had a very eventful last 10 days. We won bronze in the World Cup regatta in Holland –giving us a good start to our European season – and we’ve just touched down in Weymouth, UK, to prepare for our next World Cup event.

After a bit of a delay getting our boat to Europe, we had two days on the water before the regatta in Holland. We made the most of it and were ready to roll come race day. It was another windy, wet, cold race, with the temperature struggling to get above 12 degrees most days. We had a good run overall, but a frustrating capsize very near the finish line saw a good lead disappear in Race 3 – short, steep waves due to the shallow water made sailing downwind pretty tricky at times.

Next week we’re racing at Round 6 of the World Cup circuit here in Weymouth – with the bronze in Holland we’ve had a good start to the season so far and we’ll have a few days on the water to work on the lessons learnt.
