As I write this blog I am winging my way home to New Zealand – what a brilliant feeling!

I'll be hitting the ground running though as I plan to be competing at my first Kiwi event the day after I land.

We finished our UK season on a high with a win in the CCI* at Aldon International by Clifton Cognac. The result was made all the more special because it was his first three day start.
I had three horses at the event – Cognac, Winsten and Banksy. After the dressage, Banksy was in 31st spot of the 67 starters, Winsten 11th and Cognac second. All of them went clear and under time in the cross country, which saw Banksy move up to 21st and Winston to sixth. Cognac was still on second going into the showjumping where he went clear to take the class. Winsten and Banksy were also clear and finished sixth and 14th respectively.
What a great way to finish an exciting season.

So most of my UK team are now having a month-long break except Clifton Promise and Clifton Lush who have just come back into work and will be ridden by my dressage coach Andrew Gould while I am home.

I am really looking forward to seeing my NZ-based Clifton horses and working them and the team at our Muriwai base. And of course, I can't wait to see my dog Mack!

Whew – just got through the weekend. Loving being home – even better seeing my dog! As soon as I was on the ground, we were back out to compete at the Woodhill Sands Horse Trials where I was fourth in the CIC3* aboard Clifton Airtight, and seventh in the novice with Clifton Commanche.

Time to relax a little now and enjoy the good weather and great people.... and did I mention Mack too?
