Last month I raced at the Santa Clara International Grand Prix, where I won the 100m Backstroke A Final. It was the fastest time I have ever swum in season, beating my swim at Grand Challenge three weeks earlier by just over 6 tenths of a second.

This was also the second of three meets that my coach Scott and the rest of my training squad back home were racing at. The standout performance for me was Melissa Ingram in her 200m Backstroke final, in which she swam a 2.10.32, gaining 4th place in the A Final.

Also a big congratulations to the Black Sticks Women's Hockey team, who for the first time in history made the top four at the Champions trophy and came away with the Bronze. The only two teams ahead of them were the number 1 and 2 ranked teams in the world! Well done girls!
